"The band assembled to perform for the canadian leg of the I'M A SOULMAN! tour" consists of some of the best known, highly regarded musicians in Canada R&B legends"PRAKASH and JORDAN JOHN who's credits include being the force behind Canada's #1 R&B band THE LINCOLNS (the band that played at Wayne Gretzky's wedding), performing and appearing in the movie BLUES BROTHERS 2000, members of GEORGE CLINTON / PARLIMENT and THE FUNKADELICS and have played with LOU REED, JOHNNY WINTER and JAMES BROWN to name a few. Also in the band on guitar will be local legend DOUG VARTY and keyboardist DUNCAN GRANT who!s worked in major musical productions such as CATS, STARLIGHT EXPRESS and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA..Rounding out the line up of musicians are the DR.BOMBAY HORNS featuring Scott Edwards,Ron walker and Mike Polci. Probably one of the most talented ,animated horn sections you!ll see anywhere!
The featured dancers include Carla Oya ,a master of modern contemporary, jazz and hip hop dance as well as being a past member of THE NATIONAL BALLET of GERMANY, currently working as choreographer for STARS IN CONCERT and I'M A SOULMAN! Also on stage will be Laura Fernandez,
also a master of modern contemporary dance as well as Flamenco and latin dance and has performed in many musicals including MIAMI NIGHTS, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and GREASE. Gwenny Ludwig, a master of modern contemporary dance specializing in irish,step and tap and has performed with RIVERDANCE, MAGIC of THE DANCE, STARS IN CONCERT, THE TAP RATS and many other top shows will also be on stage. This combination of style and technique makes the dance performances in the I'M A SOULMAN! show a truly unique experience. Blending comedy, dance, athleticism and groove, these ladies bring the house down every night!"
The featured singers for the canadian tour include London singing legend Denise Pelley. "Denise has recorded 6 albums in jazz, R&B genre, has appeared in O Magazine, been both actress and singer in various theatre productions throughout Canada and the USA and brings her great sense of humour and fantastic musicianship to the stage performing her role as the QUEEN OF SOUL! Frank Rondell, originally from Italy, got his start in the early 60's when he was signed to a record deal by MICKEY STEVENSON of MOTOWN records. Frank was contracted to bring the Motown Sound to Europe. From there he never looked back and has had several record deals in the 60's in the USA and Canada. He then became a featured performer for over 20 years in Las Vegas as well as on major cruise ships all over the world. One of Frank's many talents was his skill with the art of impersonation. He began doing his tribute to THE GENIUS legend RAY CHARLES. He recently performed in St.Louis with a 60 piece gospel choir as Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful in front of an audience of over 30,000 people and has also performed extended runs in Australia, the Orient and the USA with THE RAY CHARLES STORY! "
Geoff and Chris Dahl perform in the role they were born to play! Both musicians and singers the roles of the blues men are an easy fit. After all of the years of performing together the brothers have a special chemistry on stage that's hard to beat.
